Ft Lauderdale Forklift Safety
Training & Certification Classes
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 - Forklift Training
Forklift safety training and certification is mandatory in Ft Lauderdale. We come to
your Ft Lauderdale facility and train your forklift operators on your equipment. Mitigate your risk by
having your employees take a comprehensive forklift training & certification class.
The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) mandated that all new forklift operators must be trained
& certified, regardless of experience.
All Broward County forklift
operators; regardless of experience, must be evaluated for competency at least every three years. The new
rules require that forklift training be specific to the equipment you operate and specific to
the conditions under which the equipment is operated (site specific). This course meets 29CFR
1910.178.
Pulse
America offers Ft Lauderdale businesses a comprehensive forklift safety training and
certification program for experienced and new forklift operators. Our forklift training program covers 30
topics and is good for forklift operators in the manufacturing sector or yard environments.
Our Ft Lauderdale forklift
safety training program teaches students everything from forklift engineering principles & operator safety
rules to forklift maintenance and the importance of daily forklift inspections.
This program exceeds OSHA
regulations; each student must pass a written test and performance evaluation as required by OSHA.
Participants receive a student workbook, a wallet card and certificate valid for 3-years (unless void by
having a forklift accident, near miss or is observed driving a forklift recklessly).
Reasons
for The OSHA standard
Each year, tens of thousands of injuries related to powered industrial trucks (PIT), or forklifts, occur in US
workplaces. Many employees are injured when forklifts are inadvertently driven off loading docks, forklifts
fall between docks and an unsecured trailer, pedestrians are struck by a forklift, or when people fall while
on elevated pallets and tines.
Most forklift
incidents also involve property damage, including damage to overhead sprinklers, racking, pipes, walls, and
machinery. Unfortunately, most employee injuries and property damage can be attributed to lack of safe forklift
operating procedures, lack of safety-rule enforcement, and insufficient or inadequate
forklift training.
